Instructor Development

This course prepares participants to become certified instructors for their department, teaching the core Aggression Response & Control Tactics curriculum. Departments gain the capability to conduct in-house training for new hires and ongoing professional development.

Graduates of this course will be qualified to deliver sustainment training and onboarding for new staff within their department in the Aggression Response Training protocols. This program is designed for in-agency trainers who wish to continue their professional development while helping fellow staff members stay safer through training.

While achieving commonality in training is a frequent goal, it’s often difficult to attain. This course provides strategies for integrating separate programs, enhancing learning outcomes, improving skill retention, and accelerating training delivery.

This course explores the distinction between scenario training and scenario testing. It focuses on integrating realistic scenarios into the training process and analyzing incidents to uncover training needs, ensuring that programs are closely aligned with real-world situations.

The best trainers are skilled at reading their audience, a capability that can be developed with practice. This course teaches instructors how to identify key cues from their students, enabling them to adapt their approach and enhance the student-teacher relationship for more effective cross-cultural teaching.

Effective training starts with a clear end goal: the skills and knowledge students should be able to demonstrate. This course introduces a three-step framework for designing training programs, helping instructors create structured lesson plans for both short sessions and comprehensive courses.

This course examines the distinction between excelling at a skill and teaching it effectively. It highlights how instructors can bridge the gap by developing key communication abilities, ensuring their expertise is translated into successful training.
